In which countries does BSA offer study programmes?
Currently, we work exclusively with trusted families we know personally in the UK, specifically in the Lancaster region and the Greater Manchester area in general.
What requirements do students need to meet to participate in a study abroad programme?
Requirements may vary according to the school year and the school, but generally speaking, you need to have a B2 level of English and meet the enrolment deadlines, which usually end at the end of October.
What is the duration of the programmes?
Currently, we specialise in full school academic years, as we believe this is the best way to learn and facilitates the validation of subjects upon return to Spain.
What academic years can I study abroad?
Based on our own life experiences and our knowledge in the field of international education, as a company we strongly recommend the 4th ESO and 1st year of Baccalaureate (10 and 11 year in England), due to their greater ease of validation of subjects in Spain.
However, we are also open to explore the possibility of students taking other academic years or levels abroad. It is important to note that the decision will depend on the student's level of English, as well as their commitment to study and willingness to work.
What expenses should be considered when studying abroad?
The payment made to BSA covers the costs of accommodation, living expenses, tuition and monthly payments to schools and preparatory classes with native speakers prior to the exchange. However, the family will be responsible for other additional expenses, such as transport, leisure, visas, sworn translations, multi-assistance insurance, among others.
How does BSA ensure the well-being of students?
We are committed to ensuring the welfare of students and their families by being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have staff on site who can be called upon in the event of an emergency, as well as a translation and interpretation service to facilitate communication.
What measures does BSA implement to ensure good accommodation and support during the stay?
We make visits to host families before and during the exchange to check the conditions of the rooms and homes where the students stay. In addition, during their stay, we meet with them privately to listen to their experiences, making sure they feel comfortable and unconditioned in their responses.
What is the application process like?
The application process includes completing a form, submitting required documents and, in some cases, an interview. Our team will guide you through each step of the process.
What kind of cultural activities does BSA offer?
We organise various cultural activities, day trips and social events so that students can explore and enjoy the local culture.
Does BSA handle visa management and IHS?
We do not provide this service directly, but we have partner companies that offer it at an affordable price for families who send their children abroad with us. It is important to note that it is not mandatory to use the services of these companies; BSA simply provides them to facilitate the process.
Does BSA take care of the validation of subjects upon return from the exchange?
BSA does not deal with the validation of grades and/or subjects upon return from the exchange. Once the student receives the official grades from the school, the family is responsible for arranging a sworn translation of the report card and submitting it to the corresponding school. This will allow the school to carry out the validation of the subjects that have been previously agreed before being taken. However, BSA can mediate in discussions with the foreign school to facilitate the process.
